The Flood

For those outside of Tennessee, chances are you may not know about the devastating flood that have wrecked havoc on Middle Tennessee as well as parts of Kentucky and Mississippi, because there has been little national attention.  The Middle Tennessee area has never seen something to this extent.  The amount of rain, the height of the rivers, all of it has been record breaking.  Downtown Nashville is partially underwater.  The Wildhorse Saloon, The Country Music Hall of Fame, The Bridgestone Area, LP Field where the Titans Play, Opryland and the Grand Ole Opry.  These are only a few of hundreds maybe thousands of businesses and local landmarks being affected, there is no telling the total cost to repair and rebuild what has been damaged and lost.  The impact economically on the loss of so many of these businesses will be huge.  As of now Nashville is only operating with one water treatment facility as the second one is under water and as a result we are running low on drinkable water.  Nashville and the whole Middle Tennessee area are suffering due to the flood, but the community has really joined together to get through this.  Thanks to everyone who has volunteered, donated, and supported victims of the floods.  There are so many ways people can help even if you aren’t local and can’t physically volunteer.  Several funds have been set up on a local level that are aiding in disaster relief.  A few of the funds are listed HERE.  Thanks for keeping Nashville in your thoughts and prayers, please spread the word so people know what everyone here is facing.
